Stephen P. Ray, DDS

Dr. Stephen Ray is a dentist from Nashville, TN who joined Family Dentistry in 2024. As the son of Family Dentistry's founder, Dr. Len Ray, Dr. Stephen grew up on Main St. Before beginning his formal dental education, he worked as a clinical assistant, shadowing his father and learning the craft of dentistry. In 2024, Dr. Stephen proudly followed in his father's footsteps and began treating patients at Family Dentistry.

Dr. Stephen holds a BA in English from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and earned his dental degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, College of Dentistry. He finds particular joy in dentistry's unique blend of art and science. During his years in Memphis, while earning his doctorate, Dr. Stephen shared his dental school journey on YouTube, where he built an audience of thousands of aspiring dental students who followed his experiences of studying, practicing, and working toward his degree.

Today, Dr. Stephen practices alongside his father, Dr. Ray, and his brother-in-law, Dr. Schneider. He prioritizes patient care and actively listens to their concerns. Dr. Stephen thrives on building relationships with both staff and patients, connecting through shared experiences. His passion for innovation has led him to introduce several advanced treatments to Family Dentistry. Working with Dr. Schneider, he has implemented SureSmile clear aligner therapy, digital impression scanning for crowns and bridges, and implant surgery and restoration. He remains committed to advancing his knowledge, skills, and vision for Family Dentistry.

Dr. Stephen draws strength from his Catholic faith and family, dedicating his dental career to his parents, Len and Susan. He is also inspired by his girlfriend, Rebecca, whom he met as a junior at UTK. At Family Dentistry, Dr. Stephen's mission is to treat every patient like family, providing the same level of care he would offer his own loved ones. He promises honest, exceptional work and takes pride in serving the people of Cheatham County and beyond.
